Terms of Use

  1. License Agreement for Website Access: By accessing, viewing, or utilizing this website (“Site”), or any data or materials contained within, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this License Agreement (“Agreement”) with the National Center for Victims of Crime (“NCVC” or “the Organization”). Your continued use of the Site is contingent upon your acceptance and adherence to these terms. If you do not agree with the terms of this Agreement, we kindly request that you refrain from accessing, viewing, or using the Site and exit immediately. By engaging with the Site, you affirm that you are at least eighteen years of age and are authorized to enter into this Agreement.

 

  1. Site License: In exchange for your engagement with the Site, your compliance with the terms of this Agreement is essential. The Organization grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited license to access and utilize the Site solely for your personal use, in accordance with the terms specified herein. You are not permitted to share access to the Site, or any portion thereof, with any third parties. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, reproduce, lease, sell, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on the Site or its content.

 

  • Trademark Rights: You acknowledge that all rights, titles, and interests (including trademarks, service marks, and intellectual property rights) associated with the Site are the exclusive property of NCVC. The Organization has developed or licensed the copyright of the content presented on the Site. You agree to ensure that all marks, notices, or legends related to the origin or ownership of the Site’s content remain intact and clearly legible in any copies of the Site’s materials.

 

 

 

  1. Removal of Third-Party Content: We respect the ownership rights of all users. Your use of the Site signifies your commitment to honoring the intellectual property rights of others. We will address all properly submitted takedown notices regarding alleged copyright infringements in compliance with applicable laws. A valid takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act should include: (i) the signature of an authorized representative; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work at issue; (iii) identification of the allegedly infringing material; (iv) contact information for the complainant; (v) a good faith statement from the complainant; and (vi) a declaration attesting to the accuracy of the information provided. We reserve the right to remove content that allegedly infringes the rights of others at our discretion and without prior notice. Repeated infringements may lead to account termination.   1. User-Created Content: By uploading any content to the Site or any of NCVC’s social media accounts, or by submitting creative ideas, concepts, techniques, suggestions, or materials (collectively, “Submissions”), you are granting NCVC a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide, and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, and display such Submissions, in whole or in part, across any medium for any purpose, including but not limited to advertising and promotional efforts. All Submissions, whether solicited or unsolicited, shall become the property of NCVC, allowing the Organization to utilize them as deemed appropriate without compensating or seeking further authorization from you. NCVC also reserves the right to use your initials or social media username in relation to the use or publication of your Submission.

 

  1. No Beneficiaries by Third Parties: This Agreement is intended solely for the benefit of NCVC and you, and it does not confer any rights or privileges to any third parties. Only the parties involved in this Agreement may enforce its terms.

 

 

  • Termination or Modification of Service: NCVC reserves the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Site at any time, including features, databases, links, or content. Furthermore, NCVC may impose limitations on certain features or restrict access to various parts or the entirety of the Site without prior notice or liability, in its sole discretion and without prejudice to any legal remedies available to the Organization.

 

  • Entire Agreement. This Agreement represents the comprehensive and exclusive understanding among the parties concerning the use of the Site, or any part thereof. Furthermore, it overrides all prior communications, representations, statements, and agreements, whether oral or written, regarding its subject matter.
  1. Publication: NCVC reserves the right to review and edit any documents submitted by members and uploaded to our membership site. This may include revising content for clarity, coherence, or adherence to our guidelines. Furthermore, we have the discretion to withhold publication of any member’s written submissions or event listings that do not meet our standards or align with our mission. Our goal is to ensure that all content on the membership site is of high quality and effectively serves our community.
  2. Auto-Renewal: By enrolling in auto-renewals, you agree that your membership will be automatically renewed at the end of your membership term. You can cancel your membership at any time before the renewal date. It’s important to cancel if you don’t wish to continue, as we cannot provide refunds for any charges that have been processed.
